This is how you solve the problem of Iomega drive not being recognized by your computer. Only satisfication I could get out of my new Iomega Prestig Hard Drive was beating the sh*t out of it. Worked perfectly out of the box. After that I couldn't get it to work again. After wasting 3 weeks trying to get it to work, an hour internet searching for an answer to a problem many people seemed to have, and an hour with worthless online support.... I decided to cut myself free from Iomega and get the only value I could out of this purchase: Stress Relief!
damn... I'm having issues with my Iomega Prestige 2 TB HD... It's a few months old... I just transferred a file today, turned it off, then later tried to turn back on... Power is on but not recognized on my Mac nor PC... What the...

I am having the same problem. I am at the point where I'm about to thrash mine myself. If i had seen this video before i purchased it, i would've never bought it. it works one time and after that. nothing. so anything i have stored from my now dead ibook i have completely LOST forever. Iomega is not worth it anymore, so i'm going to try another brand.

It's the small circuit board (Interface Board) inside the case. Remove the harddrive inside, install it into an inexpensive 2.5 SATA external enclosure. If you have to use a hammer on something, LEAVE IT ALONE. If you have PATIENCE and a little mechanical aptitude, try the above. From a tech at FixYa.com

In the past 2 weeks I have had 2 people come to me with these harddrives, the solution I found was to put the harddrive into your computer directly(pitty if you own a laptop)
It seems they are drawing way too much power for enclosures to handle. If this does not work for you please do as this guys has done. Smash it to hell!
