Ik als allochtoon moet toegeven dat zeer veel mede allochtone er alles aan doen om het Nederlandse uitkering te misbruiken. Veel van mijn vrienden hebben niet eens mbo niveau 2 afgerond, omdat ze simpelweg tijdens de les stiekem naar de dichtstbijzijnde coffeeshop gingen om een joint te roken. Studiefinanciering uitbuiten, geen werk zoeken, uitkering en blowen.

Ze hadden alle kansen van de wereld, als Nederlandse burger KUN je in feiten niet falen. Het is simpelweg luiheid! Dienstplicht!!!!!!!

I live in Rotterdam-Zuid, and work with muslims, Moroccan and Turkish, who do not long for the sharia to be installed (they also enjoy freedom you know) and who are completely fine with me being gay as well. Have you ever talked to a muslim, or are you just spewing your ignorance because Geert tells you to? Live and let live.

@Emileman Last time I checked the Soviet Army did not liberate the Netherlands. It was the Canadians.

@vurisje Okay, that is fine for you, but many people of Dutch heritage who live outside of the Netherlands don't hear it all the time. That's why they listen to it here. And if you do hear it all the time and don't understand why others would want to listen to it, why did you even bother to listen to it on You Tube? No one forced you to come here to listen. A contradiction, yes? Also, many listen because the music is beautiful. One need not be Dutch to appreciate the anthem as music.

@lichtbroeder I love my country to. But that doesn't mean i need to look up the anthem. I know it, i hear it enough. i know how to sing the most importent parts of the whole anthem. most of young people here know only the first verse.

@vurisje Then why did you search for Wilhelmus on You Tube? For many people of Dutch heritage, Het Wilhelmus is more than "just an anthem". It's a living link with Dutch history, culture, people, and heritage. That is why people listen to it. I was born in America to Dutch and Austrian parents. I love my country, but this song brings tears to my eyes in ways that our American anthem never has.

why do people listen to this? its just the dutch anthem. im proud to be dutch but im not going to listen to the anthem, when there is no reason to sing it

@Emileman American troops entered Maastricht on 13 September 1944. British troops played a major part in liberating southern Holland. Canadians finished the job on May 5, 1945 when they liberated western Holland. I never said Americans "saved" you, I said they pitched in to help...and they did...with their lives and money.

@Emileman No, actually the Canadians, if you really want to get your facts straight. The Russians defeated a lot of the Nazi-forces, but not 90%. France, Belgium and the Netherlands were liberated by US expeditionary forces. Plus: WWII would never have been won without US support, ammo and funding.
