Mountain fans I showcase new Mountain bassist Rev Jones.

Gaining MUCH attention with his "twirling helicopter" hair antics onstage, along with Leslie West's scorching guitar work, and its no wonder his bass playing has simply been dwarfed. I want show all why I became SOLD this past month that Leslie was a GENIUS to choose this man as his new bassist. Furthermore... I hope he stays with Leslie, and they grow together as musicians.

Heres to Rev Jones... thanks buddy for doing what you do for our much loved Leslie and Corky!

  • Sorry, nothing against Rev Jones, Richie Scarlett, Mark Clark, Jack Bruce, or Malcolm Bruce or anyone else who's played with Leslie West, but none of those combinations were the match made in heaven he and Felix Pappalardi were.

  • @Arbeedubya I think we can ALL agree on that. Leslie West and Felix Pappalardi were the best guitar/bassist duo in the history of Rock n Roll. Abbott & Costello, Mantle & Maris, Batman & Robin, Kramden & Norton, Lucy & Ricky, and West & Pappalardi. All will go down as the greatest duos entertainment has known in the 20th Century.

  • great playing! but i thought i read somewhere Leslie and Corky were joining up with Jack Bruce Jr. , or is that just a rumor?

  • That is fact. They are currently in studio. However, as Mountain fans have come to expect.... Mountain will continue on in some shape or form.

Jack Bruce Jr. is of course a great player, but I think Rev has just come from nowhere it seems. Rev has done great work and their is REAL chemistry between Rev and Les.... its pretty amazing to watch. Even in this video you can see they have quite an affection and respect for each other.

  • So the only question that remains, which I cant answer yet, is if West Bruce Jr & Laing will co-exist with Mountain, or replace it for the time being...

  • Impressive.

  • i just wanna see and hear more rock and roll.......did it die in 59????? 3 minutes and no more should give you the story of the world; forget the trip of self indulgence!!!!

  • 2 bad the drummer is a fuckin usless junike pieice of shit asshole

  • I must admit that I was expecting another heavily-overdriven and effect laden bass solo. Man I was way off, this is one of the best bass solos on all of youtube. and I've seen just about all of them. As for Leslie West, I'm glad to see him finally getting the respect he deserves. Dick Wagner and Steve Hunter are another two who could blow the doors off of just about everyone yet not many non-musicians know of them. Thanks for posting this.

  • yes, there is a Scots politician named Malcolm Bruce, born in 1944. what has this to do with anything on this topic?

  • His name is Malcolm Bruce.
