He's not apart of the tank crew, he was hiding in the tank. His suit could have got too dirty or might have malfuctioned but im sure he didnt want people to notice him

I'm sorry, but have you ever figured that the US Army hides these things so that other countries don't invent the same technologies? For instance, the US goes around flashing (let's say) laser beams at other countries. This makes those other countries want to get laser beams for themselves to keep up with the militarization. The World isn't ready for these types of things, therefore it is best to keep it hidden from those who can't handle it.
