Quick test of the video capabilities of the D90. This was an indoor shooting, so it might be better with better lightning.
Original resolution: 720p.
Lens was a Tokina 11-16mm, f2.8
It came out pretty good to my surprise, though I guess it will be screwed by all the youtube compression and resizing...
I am especially surprise by the sound!! Amazing! But you should film with a tripod

@shiryustrider123 No, I'm pretty sure the reason the video is jittery is because of the CMOS sensor. Don't get me wrong, this camera takes nice video. However my $600 camcorder is noticeably better.

@DrZeeb Are you completely ignorant or what? The quality of a DSLR is better than a low end video camera. The sensor is a lot bigger compared to a crappy video camera.
The reason why the vid is "jittery" is because DSLRs dont have much of a stabilization for video recording and the person taking this video is not using a tripod.

First off this is not a video camera. It captures video just as a camera phone does, hence you get the "jitters" like a camera phone does. I don't understand why you wouldn't buy a real video camera that can shoot far better quality full HD for hundreds less than a D90.

Pretty much all dedicated video recorders wil have better video quality than this, you might be able to find some crap video recorders, but just about all of the newer ones will do better

is there any camcorder that has the same video quality like the d90?

The camera records at 24fps. I don't know what youtube is playing at though.

very nice mate! im eyeing this camera too. i think its great value considering the hd-video is featured. although the only thing that sucks is NO AF... maybe the next model..

I think I know where the jitters come from. Its not the tokina lens but the compression scheme used. Too many dropped frames when viewing in HD. I wonder what codec is used. It reminds me of the early days of non linear editing. Also this is more evident in action scenes.
