March 5, 2010- New York (WLP): Jordanian women's rights activist Asma Khader (SIGI/J) speaks as part of a panel entitled "Securing Women's Safety and Dignity: Mobilizing for a World Free of Violence against Women" during a one-day conference in cooperation with Social Research Journal at the New School for Social Research. The conference, entitled "2020 Vision: Mobilizing for Women's Rights and Eliminating Violence Against Women," brought together grassroots women's rights activists from Brazil, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Nigeria, and Iran as well as keynote speakers Shirin Ebadi, Thoraya Obaid, Mary Robinson, and Melanne Verveer--to discuss a plan for a future free from violence and grounded in equality at global and local levels.
i am reading murder in the name of honor. it is very touching. violence against women everywhere is awful let alone convincing them its thier fault. i hope things get better for women everywhere.
