J.S. Bach: Duetto No. 1 in E minor, BWV 802 (on replica 1670 Gellinger clavichord). This clavichord was built by Jack Peters in Seattle, Washington ( http://www.jackpeters.com ). See my performance of this piece on the piano as well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o0jpQmLLO7Q

  • Awesome baroque feeling! I want a clavichord too! :-) Thanks for sharing this video with us!

  • I've watched several of your recordings on the Gellinger, and they are astounding - to play Bach on a triple-fretted instrument is an achievement - and to make it sound and look so easy is amazing. Musically gripping as well, with a strong line carrying the listener from the first to the last note. Thank you!!

A question: is the clavichord in 1/4 meantone temperament like the original? If so, do you adjust the pitch of some notes as you play, by adjusting the finger-pressure?
