@zallen21 you are probably right. the female backing vocal sounds like Kathi McDonald, who had one of the best voices in rock and roll 40 years ago. she is credited on 'All Down the LIne' on Exile on Main Street, on which the late Jimmy Miller, may he rest in peace, played percussion. he also played percussion on 'Loving Cup' according to the album credits. this was done in LA, the final dubs. Ms. McDonald, who sang with the great Leon Russell there, probably got called to sing by Mr. Miller.

it says gram parsons (rumoured) ???
but no it's not bll or any bassist just keith richards & maybe gram parsons .

No, it's a female backup singer. They were (are) often uncredited, which is a shame because she ads as much to it as the guitars, IMO :)
The piano and saxes were pre-recorded here, they're playing and singing on top of a partial mix.



Not enough can be said for Nicky Hopkins (R.I.P.) contribution on Exile.
