I don't know if you have any DTV stations on low-vhf. If so, the omni-directional antenna you showed in the video won't work for low-vhf. I know because I had something similar that didn't pickup ch.2-13, and didn't pickup all of the uhf stations. You need an old fashioned element antenna optimized for 2-51 (7-51) if there won't be any ch 2-6 in your area. I don't know if Canada is eliminating 52-69 like the USA did. Stick with an element antenna, even if all you need is a smaller antenna.

No VHF-Lo channels post-transition anywhere in Canada as far as I can tell not even too many VHF-hi stuff

In Chicago, with the exception of a low power station, Chicago has just 2 high-VHF stations (WLS back on 7 & WBBM on 12, formerly 3). 3 former VHF stations are now on the UHF, with WLS looking to go back to the UHF, since people who live in Chicago are having trouble getting WLS. Their original channel was on 52, but it was out of core, and now, they want to go to ch 44. The sole low-VHF station (WOCK-CD) is on 4, but only covers Chicago and a few nearby suburbs.

Yeah from what I've heard VHF DTV is next to impossible to receive, possibly because they have ridiculously low power outputs. Here in Victoria we're allotted to have one station transmitting at only 600 Watts!!

In the US, LP VHF can only transmit at 300watts. WBBM was at 2.5kw, and believe they were supposed to go to 4.4kw had they stayed on 3. For ch 12, they're at 8kw, and most people can get the station now. I was one of the few who got their station on 3 with little trouble. I need to get a video up to show my antenna. It's optimized for 2-69, and while I live only about 30 miles from downtown Chicago, I have a big antenna like yours, but different design.

Yeah thats way too low for reliable reception. I just wish everything was in the UHF band, it would make buying an antenna so much simpler

I have installed the converter box and everything was fine till right before Christmas. I live in NC. Channel 18.3 WCCB WeTV will play the tv show but you can't hear it. It has weather sound on it instead. Who is suppose to fix this? I don't know who to contact about this problem. I thought someone whoever is playing the shows would have noticed this and fixed it already. Can anyone help?

For more info on what I speak of, you probably need to look at my "DTV Issues" video, where I use a channel master 4228, a high end UHF and DTV antenna. I'm 13 miles or less from all the Toledo, Ohio DTV towers. I experienced issues, which got me involved in DTV issues. A key word search on here could be " centris " and DTV.
