@Trenholmes hey your Wrong the Universe does care about you, its Creation, it loves you the reason why bad things happen is because you are to stupid to realize that it gives you the power to do whatever you want and live your life the way u want cuz it is your life your very life and the energy of every living being. DO NOT put the Universe in the position of some imaginary God

Why do you think about what "we have to offer the universe"? That would imply that universe "cares" about such an offer.
"The meaning of life" is a worthless human construct. Life just is. Assigning meaning would be arbitrary. But it so happens that some constructed meanings resonate well with how our emotions are programmed genetically, for example preservation of the human race, and maximising happiness. But that is just because it "feels good".

bornagain: that verse, which i know very well, implies that we can see god's design and creation in every bit of creation. as such, every bit of evidence we find should point towards god.
this was easy to argue back when people thought each sunrise and rainbow and lightning bolt was a deliberate act of god.
but today, we know what causes these things: heliocentrism, light diffraction, and electrical charges. so now you must retreat and say "ok, then god must have created the laws of nature."

That's a better much better analogy for Creationists who deny the overwhelming evidence for Evolution, than for those who rightly see no evidence for miracles.

I think that if the human race wasn't so hateful or indifferent to each other that we would progress in reality faster. I have a question for you Trenholmes, do you think that there are planets out there that are way past our progression? Like hundreds, thousands, or even millions of years ahead of us?

I think that's a possibility but in the end irrelevant. We can only worry about what's happening right now within our immediate reach as a species.

Let's look at the Holocaust. TODAY, there are 1000's of people (the President of Iran included) who DO NOT believe the Holocaust ever happened. Despite all the pictures, all the movies, all the eye witnesses all the survivors, the Trials at Nurenburg.. if they don't believe it happened, does that make right? Are all the decisions you've ever made been right?

That's a poor analogy and a typical christian argument. The holocaust can be scientifically proven and is historically documented to such a degree that disbelief of this event is delusional. However, someone not believing in the holocaust isn't trying to impinge on my rights because they disbelieve the holocaust. However, people that -believe- in god are trying to tell me what I can and cannot do with my body and ARE trying to impinge upon my rights because their belief tells them to.

Besides that, your comment is completely out of context with our discussion. Where is the profound here? Where is the god here? What does this have to do with the universe being apathetic to our existance? You're vascillating the subject. Stay the course sir.

Nothing makes the human life valuable! That is so sad. God made you and me and all human life to fellowship with him. Just as if you had a child of your own, you would want the best for him/her. God wants the best for you also. You are his child.

There are more interesting gods than the christian god, who is an evil tyrant. I need no father such as he. Secondly, this video explains that the universe itself is apathetic to us. The value of human life is derived from within our conceptions. I have a great deal of value for life, but that value is artificial. I love my family and friends and with every breath. If you watch my video again more closely you will see it's a statement of hope not despair.
