Forty people play a cross-reality, mini ARG (Alternate Reality Game) locative story quest as part of the 8th LAMP residential in Marysville, Victoria, Australia.

The video shows mostly one of the four teams doing the challenge. The mirror build in SL of the old house where we had the workshop, has clues within puzzles that point you to real world locations and real world locations pointing back to Second Life as part of a quest to uncover the truth. Based on a fictional story by Gary about early settlers, an ancient spell book, witches, the war and evacuated school children, the quest moves into the grounds, secret parts of the building, a nearby sculpture garden and ends in a chanting fire ceremony. Other media involved included live mobile phone, role playing, walkie talkies, framed photographs (with hidden phone numbers), websites, cards, placed props/objects. Many seen in the video.

An 89MB medium rez version is available at

  • Hi Hayesg01. We stayed at Marylands country house in September 2008 [Grand Final weekend]. It was so beautifu there. We fell in love with it. The garden was so nice and the inside was so relaxing and i was reading up on the history of Marylands from the old photos on the walls inside Marylands. Your video is very good and it is worth keeping because now it's gone. We went back up there just after we were aloud too. Where Marylands once was and all thats left is the swimming poool. It was so sad.

  • So sad Marylands Country House + the town were destroyed by Bush Fire 7/2/09.

  • wtf
