I've got the U.S. DVD of this which goes by the title of 'Raw Meat'.It's a classic of British horror cinema IMO, and one of only two 70s Brit horror films to deal with the subject of cannibalism, the other being Pete Walker's equally good 'Frightmare'.
One of the best, underrated British horror films of the 70's(aithough director,Gary Sherman is American).Despite the humor of Donald Plesant's role, the film is rather grim and one wonders if Tobe Hooper saw it as the first scene of The Man's lair does have something of Texas Chainsaw about it.Hugh Armstrong's sympathetic portrayal shows a lot of sorrow & pathos .The real villian of the piece is heartless big business that puts profit before the life and well fare of it's workers. How apt for 2012
