Little Rupert just wanted to live! He walked in to my arms a frail, sickly kitten... blinded by conjunctivitis, sneezing, 103.5 fever, and had scratched most of the skin, fur, & whiskers from his face.

By touching upon his story, I hope to shed a light on the oftentimes unseen suffering of homeless pets & abandoned animals.

Much of the footage was shot at a property in Van Nuys, CA. Behind it's gates lies a serious cat hoarding situation. Most of the still images are rescued cats & kittens of my own.

The pet overpopulation problem exists in neighborhoods across the United States. This is my first attempt at making a video and I hope it reaches the hearts & minds of many. More so, to reiterate the importance of "Spaying & Neutering."

One person really CAN make a difference.

Love, ~Rhae

  • YES, I'm going to hear him speak this month! ;)

  • The cat hoarder who is to blame for this should be arrested for animal cruelty and then all the cats could at least be captured and sterilized. (and removed) I'm sure they are not all licensed either so isn't that also breaking the law?

  • @whiteflowers59

Would you believe that there already WAS a raid (apprx. 3 yrs ago) at which time 30 cats were seized along with 2 aquariums filled with rodents (piled atop one another). It went to court and the mother's lawyer won claiming that the cats don't belong to them... that they're just FEEDING them! Augh!

  • Very important, and needs to be out there. Some people mean well, but don't understand the common sense of neutering. They need to be "trained," and more people need to join the "Force" to eradicate this kind of suffering.

  • Just realized a typo in the video text! ;o

I intended to state, "local law enforcement & public shelters deal mostly with 'eradicating' the nuisance..."

Apparently, a search warrant was served @ the property over 1 yr. ago. Sadly, cats were removed & were probably destroyed - since no rescue organizations were called in. This has not addressed the problem, as evident in the footage. The suffering continues...

    .

    Thanks, T.

  • Nathan Winograd discusses why euthanasia is not the answer to this problem. Spay/neuter/trap /return wins out...

  • But I know it takes a lot of money. Have you had any large fund raisers, like silent auctions with a dinner?

  • Thank you for what you do for animals.

I have neighbors who are allowing their cats to reproduce indiscriminately and here in West Hollywood I can no longer find a free rescue or spay to help. Anyone have any ideas?

  • I love your great job.i wish you many many luck to save the Cats.Greets from Germany.
