I also wouldn't call someone an idiot for having faith. If you don't want to have faith, you don't have to. But don't oppress others because they choose it. Religion goes the same way. If you want to believe in something religiously related, you're free to do so. I don't even think it's that unhealthy of a practice, to be honest.

@equalsexes Don't you sense how a parent might be rational in guaranteeing their children a place in heaven, especially when such a place is not guaranteed otherwise?
Of course, I'm not stating you that you should kill your children. The belief that your children, murdered by you, would go to heaven is not only rash but unsubstantiated. There's no justification behind such a belief.
