  • Ban it

  • @mazracing1 Just saying but I'm sure horses competing at Badminton are not going to be 2 or 3 years old!? And also, Badminton horses are not being whipped repetativly to cross the line first...Not in the same way jockeys whip their horse. Some horses love to run, but I'm pretty sure most don't enjoy being whipped again and again...

  • @Clarey428 I feel exactly the same! The horses are started off really young! Too young :(

  • @Lillythepinkxxx no sorry look at kings john castle in 2010 GN horse refused to follow the horses and didnt start. Yes horses are herd/flight animals. but also horses know where they are. plz tell me why horses run better races over the GN course than other courses. Horses like Red Rum,west tip etc show there best form at aintree.

  • @Lillythepinkxxx err how long is badminton horse trials cross country course. fences like fixed logs etc.

  • @Clarey428 - err last year a horse had to be 6 to complete in the GN now this year its 7.

  • @MOHOFOLITE Completely agree with you! besides I've always thought horses loved to race like when a horse does unseat it's rider or falls why do they carry on jumping around the track?, hell some even finish the race!

  • Ban it

  • @MOHOFOLITE would lose a lot a lot of people jobs the horses wouldn't be cared anymore and will be left running wild and eventually die. The Grand National could be stopped but in my personal opinion i hope it ain't

  • @Clarey428 Because you've only met horses 5yrs old or younger! Ex horses retired at that age are either at stud as stallions or becoming brood mares or else they have been injured and are being rehabilitated or plain and simple retired. Nobody wants to see horses die i love horses and i love horse racing and i've seen many a horse put down in front of my eyes and it is not pretty believe me. The care and love these horses get is amazing at 99% of the yards in the country. Banning horse racing
