I should of said I only buy new. I never use the marketplace. Too fishy. Rather buy legit new releases than used sets. I only buy used at retailers like fye and thats a rare occasion if i do.

@agactinggirl Ok thanks for the info. Appreciate it.

@agactinggirl I get what your saying. I've grown up in Asia but I'm born American lol. So, I don't mind bootlegs as long as they are good. The reason I want the real DVDs though are for collector reasons, I never really had originals before, support, and because I have the money at the time lol.

@majidekurizu That's good, now if you get them from the Amazon Marketplace (used or from individual users) you have to be careful. I've gotten bootlegs from there...two of the ones I showed were from the Amazon Marketplace

What if the DVDs and BluRays say only "NTSC" and no "Region 1" is that considered a fake, even though I buy em like in Walmart or Target?
disneyfanjilly1 1 month ago
@disneyfanjilly1 If you get them from a department store, they SHOULD be legit

Just out of curiousity, I bought 2 dvd box sets for really cheap price ($6 each) today at a local used dvd, books, cd store. And I didnt realize they were bootleg until I looked it up, is it illegal that I bought them when I didn't know that they were bootlegs?

@Creepynazgul It is illegal to sell bootlegs. To own a bootleg is TECHNICALLY not illegal...like taping something onto a VHS or a DVD is creating a bootleg...and that's perfectly legal...it's the distribution of bootlegs that's illegal. I would bring it up to the store you bought it from, they have to make it right or they COULD be in A LOT of trouble if you chose to call the police
