  • Trevor Horn is a great musician and producer ;-)

    thanks for sharing ;-)

  • The 1980s was a decade of huge change musically - seeing the blossoming of rap into hip hop, the emergence of House, Acid House, and the full bloom of synths.

Trevor Horn was a true pioneer. What he did was distinctive. He helped to define the 1980s musically.

  • Its amazing how diverse his production skills are, Pet Shop Boys, Dollar, Simple Minds - Belfast Child was simply superb!

  • I have to call you out on this one: Rap never blossomed into Hip Hop. Rap is part of Hip Hop (as are DJing, breakdancing and graffiti). For more on the history of Rap and Hip Hop, check out "Can't Stop, Won't Stop" by Jeff Chang or the classic "Rap Attack" by David Toop. Also very interesting is "Hip Hop Matters" by S. Craig Watkins. You're right about T.H.'s helping to define 80's music though! Cheers.

  • One of the greats of the 80s. Trevor Horn was involved in so much - Frankie Goes To Holloywood, Art of Noise, as the synth scene evolved and changed...

    Fresh and strikingly different sounds.

He helped to make sure that 1980s music was never boring!

  • trevor horn is one of the reasons im a bass player...i grew up on platic age and elstree and duran duran and all this basy dance stuff..i love it because the music from 1977 to 1980 was very important years for the synth and people learning new methods with recording
