  • i know how to use xwinwrap and i know how to set a screensaver as my background, including without xwinwrap, but what i really want to know is how you used the nautilus desktop with the screensaver background. I got myself desktop icons with a program called "idesk" but its not as good as nautilus, so could you please explain how you did that? your tutorial doesn't seem to clue in on how that works

  • lol.

Um... maybe there's an option for that? try asking for help on a forum somewhere.

  • Xwinwrap has soooo many bugs, like when i hit the hide/show desktop icon, the wallpaper minimizes too!!!

  • Hey thanks! I finally did get it to work. I actually think my card wasn't supported by the Ubuntu drivers. It was a nVidia GeForce 256. I ended up changing the card and used the drivers and I finally got it to work. It's so cool! I love it =)

  • There are some excellent tutorials out there, especially on the Ubuntu Forums. Search there, or just search Google, "nVidia compiz ubuntu", and you'll find a great tutorial. Good luck!

  • What is the name of this song :)

  • wow, you followed a tutorial. amazing

  • Pretty cool! I would try compiz fusion, but I have to figure out how to get 3D acceleration on my nVidia card to work properly in Ubuntu.
