MacGregor master MS 1538, rec. San Francisco, 1934.
Three unknown singers with piano.
Quite a good group, actually, of whom I don't know anything. These MacGregor discs were produced for radio use only, so I guess we are lucky to have at least this disc by an ensemble that did not record commercially as far as I know. The complete MacGregor papers are now in the posession of the Library of Congress, so I guess you'd find the exact recording date and maybe even a little information on the "Aces" there, but for me this is a little bit too far ...

  • Yes, that's a good one, too. But as "Mississippi Mud" is the Rhythm Boys' very own number, I thought it might be better to upload a more "neutral" selection
