I dont think it was all because of alyssa. Shannen knows better. I think the "spat" between the two was just shannen's final straw.

She's very passionate and true to her work. I think she was able to see what brad kern was about to do to the show and didn't agree with the direction he was about to take it. While alyssa might have backed Brad up, holly might have stayed neutral thus the statement

"And their were never, ever, ever any problems between the two of us."

Just a theory NOT a fact.

after shannen left....the show was never the same. don't get me wrong i love holly, but when she and shannen were together the show was much better. i wish they had brought shannen back in the final episode....i could tell there was something missing without her.

Eh, she did good by leaving. The show took a decidely bad turn and season 8? Who on earth wanted the two blonde bimbos who did come? What for? The show post season 3 just wasn't what it was. And Alyssa Milano was just annoying. Holly, and Brian were redeeming features and their storyline though WAY over the top at times, was pretty ok. Rose was ok but I felt her relatiobnship wth Henry was rushed too and bad. Andy/Prue that was just beautiful. And Shannen seems so genuine on screen too.

Shannon was GREAT but her spat was un called for By replacing her with Rose was the best Rose did a GREAT JOB keep up the re runs at least they kept charmed going
