After Effects: Photo Manipulation- Coso Volcano Eruption

So after about 2 weeks of editing I was able to finish this! One of the most amazing moments of my life! This is footage of Coso Volcano erupting.

Me and my roommate, Terence, were invited by our anthropology teacher to experience this moment. They had pre-calculated it's eruption for April 9, 2011

Unfortunately, the land is privately owned and so we could only post a few seconds up. But they were 4 beautiful seconds. Don't you agree?

Actual Description:
So obviously there is no real way me and my friend Terence could have actually done this, and so I wanted to test my After Effects skills out and try to fool everyone (which it did, many of you :P).

But this entire video isn't real and the effect was actually all rendered in After Effects. What you're seeing is actually just a photo of a prior volcanic eruption that I found on Google. After a few magic tweaks in AE, I was able to create a pretty convincing visual effect, aided of course by our amazing acting and sound effects.
