Of course, we knew gay people were around and accepted by true peace-and-love hippies, but they pretty much kept to themselves exactly because of all the Johnny Pissoffs that were more than willing to express themselves upon them. There was very little in the way of legal repercussions against these jerks, either. Many Johnny Pissoffs were cops.
