I was cleaning out my fluval filter last week and found a 1 1/4" brown spotted baby weather loach behind one of the sponges. Loaches rarely breed in aquariums so this is really exciting for me. He is living in my 10 gallon aquarium until he's large enough to live with my goldfish in the 75 gallon aquarium. In this video the baby is enjoying his very first blood worm. He is just too cute!

Update 11/13/10; Totally shocked when I looked in the tank tonight and noticed that Kendall Jr. was looking much bigger. I measured him and he is now 2" long. I didn't realize baby loaches could grow so much in such a short amount of time. It won't be long before he joins his parents in the big tank!

11/22/10 - The baby is 2.5" now so I moved him into the big tank today. He went right over to him mom and snuggled up against her. It was so cute.

  • HE'S SO TINY!!! <3 <3 <3

  • @Himekahorselover I'll have to get a new video up of him soon. He's about 4 inches long and getting thicker. Still super tiny next to mom and dad though.

  • aww well cute! how come they breed without a breeding tank and all that?

  • @alizcool1 I don't know. I guess I just got lucky and they are happy in their tank. I have panda corys too that lay eggs on the glass and on the plants.

  • what tempature is your tank because i would love to have one its just that they say you cant put them in warm water ? thanks

  • @ashbuzzman100 I dropped the temperature of the tank to 74 so the little guy would be ok. The tropical fish were fine and I turned it back up once I moved the baby in with his parents. He's really happy in the big tank. He's still shy but the adults swim all over the place.
