A rare selonding piece from Bungaya called Landung-Loncog performed on Mekar Bhuana's new selonding set by the children's group from Yayasan Selonding from Bebandem, Karangasem. This selonding set is a duplicate of the set at Besakih Temple, and is very different both in instrumentation, tuning and playing technique from the now common Tenganan style. This is the first set of its kind South Bali. Mekar Bhuana Conservatory hopes to help the younger generation become more aware about the beauty of rare village styles and the value of learning this beautiful archaic music, and keeping it alive for future generations. Thank you to Yayasan Selonding, under the direction of Sri Mpu Tusan, for documenting and reconstructing this wonderful aural landscape! Also thank you to Pande Widiana and Bpk Wayan Astika for organising this group to performing for our blessing ceremony - matur suksme.
