Edison's Echo: Light from a GE Time Capsule

GE opened a 100-year old time capsule at NELA Park today. It contained five light bulbs. Three of them were in a working condition.

That just proves that everything is made so cheap now days. And it all about money. Companies make products to brake way faster than ever before so we will consume consume consume spend spend spend. Even those newer light bulbs don't last the time they say on the package.

¿Porqué no habrían de funcionar? Si se guardaron en buen estado, se supone que deberían funcionar! No se trata de un alimento que se pueda descomponer, o de un componente que se pueda deteriorarse con el tiempo. Maravilla y asombro daría que hubiesen funcionado cien años continuamente, pero no que por estar guardadas vuelvan a funcionar!... En casa de mi abuela encontré una cámara de fotos, que guardada por más de 50 años funciona hoy día perfectamente... no le veo la gracia, la verdad.

Some telescopic zoom lenses do extend outwards towards the subject when zooming in; not that any would extend _that_ far, I'm just saying.
