In this video I discuss the recent controversy on the Weight Loss Losers channel on the topic of weight loss surgery. A few of the vloggers came out against weight loss surgery and were personally attacked for it which upset me very much. I talk about the personal attacks, my opinion on weight loss surgery, and learning to love yourself to be successful at weight loss.

Thank you for watching!

  • God Wes, I was watching this video, and at about 4:42, chills went through my spine. And I sat here at my chair and said out loud "YES!" Then I watched the next 10 seconds, and I said "YES!" again.

As I like to say, "it's not [necessarily] what you're eating, rather, it's what's eating you." As soon as you can figure out & solve that, the weight will fall off.

However with WLS, you only work on the physical, not the emotional, and you're destined to gain it back.

    Good Video Dude.

  • Well said. I know I have an addiction and am using wls as a way to deal with that addiction. Counseling is part of the process. Life is a struggle for everyone. No one's life is easy, be they rich, poor, fat or thin. You can't really know what a person is dealing with unless you walk in their shoes. Congrats on your success without wls.

  • I personally wouldnt attack someone who had WLS. But I personally would not opt for it. I currently weigh 243 lbs, and I could have the surgery if i wanted to. But i would never even think about it because I need to learn myself.

IMO i think many people do WLS and they don't deal with the emotions and issues that got them fat in the first place. They have the surgery then regret having it or get depressed. Even resenting people who can eat a normal meal.

Weight loss can happen on your own.

  • Great video! I agree that WLS is solving the wrong problem! I think many of us are too quick to blame our bodies - "My metabolism is broken" "I just can't lose weight" "It's genetic." I personally believe that our bodies are amazing machines, trying desperately to keep us healthy! But our bodies can only respond to the stimuli we input - if you're not losing weight, you're not giving your body the right signals, and that's a problem in thoughts and behaviors!

  • Hey Wes, You're a southern GENT =) R77

  • Great video, Wes! Love your thoughts and feelings!
