The gang of ash, misty, Brock and pikachu would never be the same... They would always remain the original. And team rocket used to be cool with their funny antics and goofiness.. Now apparently they are all serious in black and white now and act all ninja like and don't get blasted off

@ioergermister I see your point there, but by the time that Tracey had finally appeared in 'Adventures in the Orange Islands' here in North America, it was already confirmed by the creators that Brock was bound to return as a central character and party member of Ash. Then, we were given hints here and there like 'Pokemon the Movie 2000' and 'Enter the Dragonite'!

Im 18 now and all i can say is that im so glad Pokemon was a part of my childhood...

I do believe that Pokemon died with Brock. Even though the "original" Pokemon died a long time ago, to me anyway, Pokemon was still Pokemon as long as Brock was in Ash's party. So yes, both the Advanced Generation and Diamond & Pearl series were continuations of Pokemon. However, now that Brock has been permanently replaced, I do not consider BW a chapter of Pokemon. Call it whatever you want, I like to call it the "Brock rule", but he was really the only constant besides Ash & Pikachu of course
