Just since there's a lot of confusion over his cameo, here's the beans:

Vincent ONLY appears in Persona 3 Portable, not in the PS2 Versions. Since both games were made from the same team, they probably put him into Persona 3 Portable just to foreshadow his story. Catherine was already in late conception phase when P3P was finished up, so his character didn't influence a whole game, but was more a late add in to foreshadow Catherine.

... Because, in a year or so, I'll be having my own game. And when you look back here, you'll be like, "Holy shit! He made a cameo is P3P before having his own game!" And then, you'd get mind fucked. XD

@Darkvoidninja The original Japanese also had the same Western names, and the same English writing in the cutscenes. Yes, Japan is full of English text, but it's also full of Japanese text, which the game does not have. The localization crew didn't change the cutscenes so all the stuff was in English, it was actually originally like that, except for the voices. I'm sorry, but "the game was made in Japan by Japanese people" does not automatically mean it's "set in Japan". Is MGS set in Japan?
