@747legend I wouldn't want to to confuse you with facts, so do it yourself ... look up Copyright on Wikipedia. You'll see that they even mention "The British Statute of Anne 1709", one of the first copyright statutes, authored in your very country.

First; the issue was not a song, it was software.

Second; you are 100% incorrect. When you "purchase" a song you are buying a use license that has specific limitations. Typically to purchase an unlimited rights license to a piece of music costs hundreds of thousands of dollars (or millions, i.e. MJ -> The Beatles).

Crack open a law book before spreading misinformation that could cost you or someone hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines.
