Such a stage presence. I really hope this is the predecessor to a future tour in the coming years. Arch sounds better now than he ever has!

Agree. Both versions are amazing. Arch is one of my favorite singers ever, but he could never have done A Pleasant Shade of Gray or Still Remains from Disconnected as well as Alder.

I totally agree. I liked no exit ok but after that I got off the FW train cuz John Arch just cant be replaced! Every time I hear ray he sounds kind of flat. So happy to have this amazing voice back from my youth! I cant believe hes back! John Arch rules!

I love the old albums better Ray is a more polished vocalist but John has a studio sound that kicks it over the top.I liked No Exit but after that the new songs never grabbed me like the Arch albums,

STOP trying to compare John to Ray (and vice versa)!! It's APPLES and ORANGES!! It is the same BAND but two DIFFERENT musical approaches and vocal styles. They're BOTH good based upon their own merits so get over yourselves.

But John hasn't sang in 20 years...Of course he saved his voice, But you can't tell you don't hear the bad notes all over the place on all his live recordings???

Ray at least has been taking care of his voice now for the last 14 years...thank God for that or else John Arch would have been at the helm today for Fates Warning. Matheos (guitarist Fates Warning) has not kicked Ray out of the band and have him go kick some rocks,I guess, because he respects Ray and just kept him in.What iv'e heard is, audiences go see Fates Warning because they are icons of the progressive rock genre, but are disappointed that he ruined his lungs/voice due to negligence.

Yes of course Ray propelled Fates Warning to a different dimension, but he took his vocals for granted and didn't take car of his voice. He started to smoke up the marlboroughs like there was no tomorrow as if he stuck his face to the side of a wood burning fireplace. Today, he can't even reach mid highs..so sad!! John Arch used his head and saved his voice,..for the long run...Ray could only wish he could turn back the time, Ray looks at John Arch now in AWE!!
