North Island had a flying club for retired Navy, but it was closed several months ago due to the lack of flyable airplanes and an in house mechanic.
It was fun to fly out of there, because one stayed on the North Island tower and could fly either over the Coronado Bridge or around Point Loma. Glad I got to do it while it was in operation.
As far as I know, they do not let other private aircraft to land there....unless escorted by an F-18. lol

Very nice video! I thought North Island was only a Navy base.....Do they allow private/civil aircraft to fly out of there?
