i don't understand why there are 18 dislikes. to those 18 people, honestly, why did you dislike the clip???
According to my foster grandma i shut down; i wouldn't speak, show interest, or affection. she said it took a while for me to come around, but eventually i did.
@AlixSin13 Be wary of this man and these type of 'treatment modalities', unless you want to have family member subjected to very bizarre 'treatment', what in my humble opinion appears to be 'abuse by prescription'. Call your local Child Protective Services immediately if someone you love is being treated by this man or this manner of 'treatment'. Very close scrutiny is needed here.
I agree with this; imagine how it would feel to be 9months old child, dropped off at an orphanage suffering from malnutrition, rheumatic fever, pheumonia, & direahha, 1 month later you arrive to a new country are are given into the loving arms of people that don't even speak the language you have been learning the 1st 10months of your life; now you have a new environment, new language, new food, etc, etc. etc. At 52 yrs old, I still have challenges putting down roots anywhere or anything.
Psychiatrists and other mental health experts need to read Dr Geoff Rickarby's submission to the NSW parliament. It's the harsh truth. Adoption agencies and most adopters don't care what this cruel, unnatural separation does to mothers and children. They dehumanize, slander and abuse us to justify adoption. They're sociopathic. Honest, compassionate people don't buy and sell babies or trash their mothers!
@Sammicsno I think the connection you are referring to is probably more to do with the kind of bonding people experience during highly traumatic experiences, induced by chemicals, stress hormones, that essentially emotionally charge the experience in the brain's memory banks. That is probably in particularly more an issue withe mother than the child, because the mother is have many minor traumas for the several months leading up 2 major trauma of giving birth which tends 2 be painful experience

If the child has no concept of "love and affection" then that just goes to show how messed up the foster homes are.

This guy is a quack. He is a proponent of attachment therapy, which often leads to children dying.
His so-called 'doctorate' is questionable, and was given him by a well-known and non-accredited diploma mill.
This man has even abused his own children.
Why you people would listen to his lies is beyond my comprehension. He should be in jail.
