P42DC #102, my favorite P42, deadheads light from NHV to BOS. Filmed at Readville Station on Friday after thanksgiving. Time: 1330 hours.

This happens numerous times. I remember watching a video of a set of NJT Arrow IIIs race an Amtrak AEM7 with no cars and the Arrow IIIs were moving faster then the AEM7 with no cars.
