Lord Muruga Light

The highlight for Chetty Pusam is when the deity of Lord Muruga is carefully bought out to begin his journey for his impending engagement to his consort.

The rites of the journey is offering of the first light to all that is present to grace his journey. Blessings like this, is one very few staunch Hindus would ever miss.

Once the Lord is placed on the 130 years chariot, rites like rolling the pumpkin and prayers before he starts his journey are a must.

Devotees pushed their way into the crowd to be bless in the early morning of Chetty Pusam.

Witness it yourself if you are not concern about crowd, incense and smoke. Colorful and spectacular 3 days with musicians, devotional singers and trumpets are present to make the occasion even more intense.

Welcome to Penang and Malaysia. Watch the crowd this year. The intensity shows when the first light is offered to Lord Muruga. You hear bells ringing intensively and hands outstretched to the fullest to receive the blessing.
