This is a trip down memory lane for me as I played in Neil's band for a short time ... Bit of a disaster as my first gig with Neil was the opening night of the Brenda lee tour in Slough uk in 1965 and I can remember clearly going on stage, with a 20 minute rehearsal prior to the gig of his material, realizing I was not up to speed with his songs ... But I became a fast learner on stage and despite a rocky start managed to persevere...

Thanks You Tube.Years ago at Streatham Ice Rink, I saw this group and they were great, especially the guitarist who blew me and my girlfriend away. Later I saw them play on the same bill in a South London club with the Steve Laine Combo, another group that fell under the radar until they re-emerged in Germany and later the US as the Liverpool Five . They too have shown up on You Tube and are worth checking out.

I was Neil's roadie in the early sixties with Jimmy Page & Albert Lee. On one gig he swung from the stage curtain rail & brought it crashing down, & another one he jumped off trhe stage onto what he thought was solid ground, which turned out to be a dust cover, & disappeared into the orchestra pit. This is a great trip down Mammary Lane!
