I just don't understand why whether Frida was Mexican the movie is not spoken in Spanish!?, I mean I'm Mexican and I'm proud of my language and also of this amazing surralist artist

high praise to salma hayek for her performance and part in making this movie such a moving and tender tribute to one of my greatest heros!!!

Salma Hayek should've won the Oscar for this. This was the year Nicole Kidman won for "The Hours" which the only thing she does in that movie is look ugly. But I guess the Academy is more about letting the popular white girl win than the Latin girl in the less known movie.

@fear2tread79 i watch nascat and drink beer but i also think this movie is very good..salma hayek performance and directing is best parts in this movie..my favorite role from her with lonely hearts killers..here she is warm strong souled woman and lonely hearts movie cold and broken minded..great actor..i just hope she would get more chanses on great roles..i first time get to know fridas painting now when i watch this movie and its just in my taste

When I was about 8 years old, my grand-mother took me to an exhibition of Rivera/Kahlo... I thought it was beautiful and touching but didn't quite understood everything.
Yesterday I saw the movie (with Salma Hayeck as Frida) and I cried so much! Her acid sense of humour and the beauty of her paintings touched my heart deeply.

how can any one say this movie is stupid. it is someones life that touched so many at different levels. people talk about the unibrow and how ugly diego truly was. what frida saw was someone that loved her inspite of her deformity. she never saw him as ugly or handsome just a person who was non judgmental and therefore she was not of him inspite of his infidelity. I think she was truly hurt when he started an affair with her sister.
