In my opinion Das Boot is the best war film, and at the same time also the best anti-war film. It shows that there are no winners, only losers regardless who you fight for. An outstanding piece of cinema - simply brilliant. Bravo!

That's funny. I have a copy of Das Boot and it's dubbed in English. However, it seems to be lacking several scenes like the part where the Number One guy grabs the calendar. Shrugs*
