@icemanisdangerous latest stuff is not for me, but that's my taste. For what (little) it's worth she charted as a #3 artist on Billboard and "Alive" and "Rocket" off "Head First" both carted #1. I would call it mainstream myself, hope they do something more interesting next time. (If they do another great album it probably won't chart as high)

@icemanisdangerous What possible difference does it make that she has not charted? That stuff is pablum for the masses, Goldfrapp besides having an amazing voice does many different things. It's hard to believe that she/they are so diverse. The most recent album does not do much for me, but it's still far beyond most everything else. Listen to Felt Mountain and realize that she does the High an Low vocals and plays instruments allow with Will. Most important they *thought* of this.

@icemanisdangerous The thing is that the charts have become increasingly irrelevant over the years. These days people have moved off to listen to music in their own specific genres. The charts are for those artists who have no talent such as Cheryl Cole who get there through mass publicity. The popularity of an artist can't be judged by the number of records sold.

That's why I like Goldfrapp, because it's about making the music you like, if there's success then so much the better.
