No problem! We all start somewhere!
To delete half simply hit Ctrl + x simultaneously.
To scale the object you hit Ctrl + t and then use the corners that appear to downsize the object :)

Great video but I would like to know the tools/keys you use as you go. Having no idea of the tool or key you scale down with and also when you say delete half of the object...with what key? Sorry for being very new to PS and have no knowledge of what does what. You make it look so easy but without knowing what keys or tools to use makes it hard to follow along. Thanks.
