2001 A Space Odyssey music video: Across the Universe

2001: A Space Odyssey with the Beatles's Across the Universe.

I'm a big fan of the Beatles as well as Stanley Kubrick, so after I re-watched 2001 I was inspired. My goal was to make a video where the music matches emotionally with the images. I also wanted to tell the story, or at least my interpretation of 2001, through song. Listening to Across the Universe, I found very similar elements to 2001. Lines like "Images of broken light" or "They tumble blindly as they make their way across the universe" were my inspiration.

I hope you enjoy my rendition of 2001: A Space Odyssey with Across the Universe.

@IamNowJMAN I agree, the song is too happy.Towards the end of the movie it gave you this erie feeling.Especially in the "hotel room".

I need to watch this movie again...people say it's boring but I loved it.I read all the books too but I borrowed them.I'm hoping on getting them for christmas.

The song has stunning imagery and so does the clips, but a very minor problem for me is that the song is very happy and positive. Some of the clips are negative or slightly creepy (HAL being destroyed, the Star Child, the discovery of the monolith). just creates a little dissonance while watching, but this is a good video. Very well edited.

Very good work!  The transitions are perfectly synchronized and the scenes are very well chosen. 2001 is, by far, my favorite movie and the Beatles were my first musical love so you can understand why i appreciate your clip. Can you tell me which program you used?
