hi, just need advice on djing with mp3s
is it illegal to dj with copywritten music in public?
do i need a license?
is there a way that i can get unlimited use of tracks for djing legally? for a monthly fee?
or do i have to buy each song like on itunes in order not to get in trouble?
thanks!!!!!!

Just another point of view, if u are going to stand or be standing for a long time, wear shoes that u can stand in, for long amounts of time, sock's should wick away sweat, and your feet will not troble u nearly as much. Knee never lock them for long, and drink water, moving about is best! Also, on last thought on this, ALWAY's try to keep ur gear covered if its loaded wear it can't be seen easy, Also use a small fan to keep your cool, aim is up so the stream hits u, lift safe, drink H2O an Njoy

U would be surprised at how much u can lug around in a milk crate, that and their designed to stack so, that's one thought, On music, best of CD's are good, as it has been said before, As a DJ u may in fact like loads of music, and enjoy most of the songs from any given person or group or what have u. But the bulk of the folks u find your are play to (for) are not. They hear only the radio play's so ur looking for those songs that have at least graced the charts.

Another very informative vid J.
The tip about moving around is very sound advice. When the crowd looks to see the DJ and if the DJ looks like they are really into the song/music/set and then the energy is going to be portrayed to the crowd...and if the DJ is enjoying...so does the crowd.

You say that compilations are better than albums. What about Best of... CDs. You got songs of a single author but they are the best songs from different albums? (or does that fall under compilations?)

hi mate been doing this for 16 years myself and just as an added tip i use the boxes my lights come in if i can and when the box starts to get floppy and shabby i wrap it up with black gaffer tape it looks smart ish and holds the boxes together saves them getting knocked and banged and never leave your cds in the van as the cold can cause condensation ect and may stop them bieng played there and then i always keep mine in the house i also do this with my vinyal stops it warping
