tavares has 21 goals and 43 points in 72 games, kessel has 28 goals and 51 points in 60 games...how is that you think the leafs first or 2nd round pick was gonna be anything even close as good as kessel? kessel is only 22 as well so hes only going to improve...it wasnt a bad trade imo

Burke knows exactly what hes doing. Like some of u said, u cant determine if a 1st or 2nd round draft pick will be a superstar. Kessel is clearly a superstar in the NHL. He can score just as good as every other sniper in the NHL and has explosive speed. Definitely worth giving up a 1st and 2nd round draft pick.

@evanderlazer The difference being, Phil Kessel is a superstar at 22 years old...we don't know what Tyler Seguin will be. The fact you compare him to either Stamkos or Toews is laughable. Anyway, as a Leaf fan I'll take that scumbag American Phil Kessel and his 35 goals a year minimum for the next 10-15 years, over Tyler Seguin.

Central Scouting trying to tout Seguin as #1 over Taylor Hall is the biggest hoax perpretrated on hockey fans.
