I was expecting an actual sparring match, not a Hollywood scripted fight with fancy moves that would get you killed if you tried them in a real fight.

It was still amusing, but I are disappoint.

I'd also like to point out that if two people with swords were actually trying to kill one another, it would probably devolve into wild hacking and slashing or a very bloody wrestling match very quickly and look nothing like any Hollywood sword fight or sparring match you've ever seen. Those things have rules. Murder does not. In any case, that's not what wu shu is about. It's a preformance... and a rather beautiful one, IMO.

@demomanchaos It's a performance sport called wu shu. It's like ice skating... with weapons, only way more interesting. Which is why it ought to be an Olympic sport, IMO.

@Kamikazebutterfly Nope, viking reenactor. I do live steel combat which is with actual steel weapons, which are blunt of course but they do still hurt if you get hit. The fights are unscripted, unlike this.
