Suddenly tears started to form in her eyes and she sprang from the room. Well done Nick youve done it now! I ran after her.
Nick- Selena wait!
I caught her arm at the top of the stairs and pulled her into a tight hug.
Nick- Im sorry.
She didnt resist but just cried into my chest. I picked her up and took her back to her room and sat her on my knee.
Selena- Im sorry. Its not you, it just brought back memories.
Nick- Memories of what?
She looked up at me obviously thinking about whether she should tell me. She obviously decided she could.
Selena- Remember my ex. The guy I was dating when I arrived here. Well lets just say he punished me a lot.
I tensed.
Nick- What do you mean?
Selena- He used to tell me I was worthless and he was just teaching me to be a better girlfriend. He used to hit me a lot. I didnt finish with him because I believed he was right. Eventually he got bored and left me but I still have the memories, the pain.
She was sobbing again now and I just pulled her into a tighter hug.
Nick- Im so sorry! If I had known, well I would have killed him but I would never have brought it up either. You have to know though; I would never hurt you like that! One Mum would kill me! And two I care about you so much. Youre not worthless, youre amazing.
She pulled back and smiled at me.
Selena- So youre willing to give this ago even if I dont let you punish me?
Nick- Of course.
She got out of my lap and went over to her desk. She pulled something out of her draws and came back to me handing me her brush. I looked at her confused.
Selena- I can tell in that of course that there wasnt 100% trust in it. I want you to know you can trust me and by doing that Im going to show you I can trust you.
I looked at her and could feel myself falling in love with her. If she could trust me with this then our relationship could be so strong, but I had to ask.
Nick- Are you sure?
She didnt reply but led herself across my lap and waited. I hesitated for a second but when I realised she wasnt taking it back I listed up the brush and brought it down with medium force.
Selena POV
I realised from the first smack that, even though it hurt, it wasnt the same as before. The love and guidance behind it proved that you can be punished lovingly. I already knew that from Mum but when Nick did it, there was more than unconditional love.
SMACK, SMACK, SMACK, SMACK.
Ok ouch! It was starting to sting now but instead of only thinking about the amount of pain I was in, I thought about the amount of pain I had caused Nick, and Joe for that matter.
SMACK, SMACK, SMACK, SMACK, SMACK.
Selena- Ouch Nicki!
I couldnt help but cry out. I felt Nick tense a little and pause, but when he realised I wasnt moving he started up again.
