United Nations, New York, 15 October 2009: The Video Contest "If you had the opportunity to speak to the world leaders, what would you say?" has expired on 10th October 2009.
We THANK YOU ALL for your efforts and commend you for submitting a creative and heartfelt entry.
The top 5 entries were selected by a panel of UN representatives from different departments and offices at UN Headquarters in New York, who rated the entries based on their relevance to the challenge, creativity, merit and added aesthetic value. The selection was very difficult.

Congratulations 2the winners & sorry 4the others whom i'm part of :) I really enjoyed taking part in this "contest", it was a chance 2share together our views & ideas in a good subject, our future, in a positiv way
I read some comments of people who were upset about the result & i can understand them but think positiv; if this was not your chance, no big deal, if you want 2make a positiv change, begin from now & from where you are & 1day you'll be able 2make "bigger" good changes Take care
I want to thank everyone for their submissions. I have reviewed so many amazing works from people all over the world - it is amazing to see so many people engaged in positive dialog for the betterment of the international community. Sometimes it is easy to forget that people care about others, that people are interested in the general well being of their neighbors no matter how far away they may be.
We are the leaders of tomorrow. I look forward to working with you all in the future!
Thank you to the 477 people who responded to this challenge and shame on the rest of us (including myself) for being so self absorbed and apathetic! I would like to encourage world leaders to repeat this challenge as often as possible and I promise never to miss this opportunity again! Peace and prosperity to you all.
My simple complaint: 1. Unethical use of horrific images in several of the videos submitted. 2. Allowance of an explicit, biased religious in a manner that offends the religious sentiments of many other people. 3. Ignoring videos which were low-tech and clearly submitted by underprivileged people from countries torn by war and extreme poverty, but whose message was compelling and met all other criteria. 4. Ignoring my message which you can see for yourself was an intelligent one.
Well, I guess I should have done a good production of the video even if it was short. I should have a complete idea of what the world has become. I didn't prepare that much because I thought these ideas were already known to many. But thank you for accepting my entry from the Asian Continent, the Philippines. Next time, a good production, if there will be a next time. And congratulations to the winners. God bless.
I think all of the winners of the contest had the best message and cinematography, but their message was very general and only addressed obvious problems. I don't think the UN should do a contest like this again, because it kind of gives the impression that some videos were less important, although that was not the UN message. Next time the UN should welcome videos, but not choose winners.
Congratulations to all the winners and good luck in NY. I hope that someday we all achieve your desire to make the world better and safer place. I consider myself a winner too. I had the opportunity to speak to the world and share my story with you all. So thank you UN!
