A 15" gauge Crown Steam Locomotive built in 1966 by Crown Metal Products of Wyano, PA. Completely rebuilt and with a new ASME Code boiler, running gear, tender shell, and other parts in 1995 and new tubes in 2004. It has run very little since its last re-tubing, and has been stored serviceable since 2005. It was purchased from Heritage Railway in Ontario, Canada for use at a church summer camp near Yosemite National Park. For more information on this locomotive, contact me.

  • This locomotive is still for sale at a reduced price. There is nothing wrong with it.

  • @btflco I have no email address or an actual computer. I am writing through the use of an iPod touch. I would email you if I could, tho. Do you have an asking price, or is it a private matter for those of us with an interest in the loco?

  • @99mxylptlk

    $28,500 is the selling price.

  • @btflco Do you still have this item available ??? Thankyou

  • I have a place to run it.. even the tracks already laid out... But I assume you won't ship to Europe?

  • i would love to have that, but 2 problems, no money and no where to run it. damn, what a nice lil loco.

  • HAVE YOU SOLD YOU TRAIN? Steve ritcheymill@jscomm.net

  • The cylinders need a constant supply of oil administered in small amounts like a mechanical or hydrostatic lubricator. Pumping a few pumps of steam oil at the beginning floods the cylinders and then quickly runs out allowing the valves and cylinders to score and no longer seal. Having the fire go out at 140 psi allows cold air to be drawn into the firebox and the thermal shock to the boiler and tubes can cause sheets to crack and tubes to leak. when running there should always be a fire

  • if still for sale please email me at daniel.charlebois27@hotmail.com

  • Nice briefing here. What modifications were needed to the firebox burners for Diesel #2? Most oil-fired steamers use fairly heavy fuel oils.

  • Thanx. I'm definently interested, but it'll probably take me a while to get THAT kind of money together... If you get another offer, go ahead and sell it. But I'll try to see what I can get.
