@quick2kick It's called chambering and is to help with the form of your strike or block. I took TKD for almost a year. I had fun, but the only thing that I really learned was the forms, which have no application, but help with posture, alignment, and how you execute the technique. As far as anything else goes, I pretty much knew most of the kicks they showed me.
why reach away from the attack before blocking .... shouldn't your hands stay between you and your attacker ?? I would think this is developing bad habits for fighting
