I am anti psychology, I think they are just as bad as psychiarty if not worse and I'm a patient.
People like Dr Linda Papadopoulos should be ashamed of themselves. They provide no cure and only add humiliation to poeple's suffering. How they have the audacity to go on TV and call themselves "mental health experts" is beyond me.
Imagine going to a mechanic and paying £1000 but they can't fix your car, or going to a dentist and paying money but your still left with toothache. See the psychologists don't care if they can't cure you, they still go on TV and smile. I say its time to make them go and get a job on the minimum wage.
I made a mistake in the vid saying the dsm lists treatments. I should have said "people who use the dsm advocate psychotherapy etc" Heres some links:

  • this lad is delusional, psychologist need 7 to 8yrs education and training to practise as chartered psychologists, they deserve the wage they get.Of course psychology and psychiatry interact,a psychologist can neither diagnose nor prescribe meds, they generally work together, with the therapist doing the donkey work. They have done way more good than harm.

  • @billysue2 Just because they do 7 to 8 years of education and training doesn't mean psychology is a science or that they deserve a good wage.

Psychology works on the same principle as all the other bogus teatments which claim to have proof and results like crystal healing, NLP, neurofeedback, reiki, homeopathy etc. I did a video about it called "psychiatry placebo effect".

The fact it that psycology can't cure anyone beyond the levels of all the other bogus treatments.

  • @caketheory I saw your video and its rubbish like this one.Clinical psychs these days use only evidence based treatment. It has nothing to do with the alternative crap you mentioned.Of course theres a placebo in every treatment, that cannot be removed, but a treatment is bogus if its only placebo. If you do 8 yrs training and are using a evidence based method you deserve a wage way higher than someone with no education.I agree that psychiatry is lacking in evidence but not registered pyshologists.

  • @billysue2 Evidence based treatment is open to fraud.

I did a video about it too where I explain how the first antipsychotic drug "Thorazine" was all about PR and marketing. But I see you already left a comment on that too.

  • Okay, to address your objection: "A hygienic enforcer officer", right? A psychological trick brought about by playing with words. That's what you say it is.

But what is a cleaner? Is it a person, or is it an object that performs some task? A janitor is simultaneously an object to be used and also a person. To the person who wants the floors of his office building kept clean, the janitor is nothing more than some object he throws money at. To that janitors family, he is the world.

  • @marsbarz Hi Thanks for the comment but whats the point your trying to make?

  • @bwanadikdeepinside a degree in psychology is NOT a clinical psychologist, its the basic requirement to apply for entry to a clinical doctorate in psychology which is what you need to complete to call yourself a clinical psychologist. A counselling pschologist requires only a masters and pschotherapy requires nothing since its not regulated. So its 4 yr psychology degree(involves no therapeutic application)and then approx 3 yrs clinical internship which is the real training for the job

  • @BMFstudiosNYC CBT is a proven effective treatment for depression along with behavioural activation, they dont need to find the cause of depression to work.Im always wary of therapists looking for causes, often a waste of time when nobody knows what causes depression anyway.

  • @scarred10 ...They will help you if you want to be helped. It's hard sometimes to get to the cause of an emotional issue when you can't be sure if what the therapist suggests is the underlying cause. If you have depression and not know why, you could say it's from alot of things but that may not be the real cause. It's hard to explain in limited words here but basically, the power of suggestion can cause you to see past experiences as bad when you analyze them too much even if they were minor.

  • @BMFstudiosNYC not everybody in any career is good at their jobs.If they are good theyll help you if want to get better but first you must engage. This lad is obviously mentally ill still.

  • @billysue2 ...assuming all psychologists / therapists are good at their jobs? Consider this, you see a therapist for a symptom of depression but don't know the source. A therapist analyzes your life, asks how you feel but will often make you harp on something seen as bad that you didn't have a big problem with before. Being the only source identified, this will make you question things. Now you leave with new emotional problems you didn't have before all because you were LOOKING for an answer.

  • psychology just tells you that youre shit, they suck you in and beat you down, theres nothing to it, like oh boy they went to school for like a decade to be able to do what they do, so what? you could work in a concentration camp for a decade and get really good at throwing babies in ovens for fucks sake, that doesnt make it any better.

  • @caketheory real research is indeed open to fraud when drug companies fund them and this has happened. However, the scientific method is the only way to see if something works and thats what neuroscience is built upon, they are trying to be objective.Manipulation of data and results rarely occurs relative to the number of studies done .
