@CreationAudioLabs I have a Mesa Boogie Express 5:50 and I love the Distortion just from the amp but it does not come with a solo channel. I purchased the MXR MC-401 Boost/Line Driver Pedal and it boosts the clean channel just fine but only saturates the distortion channel with no boost. I have read some forums and other people are having the same issue even if they go through an FX loop, which I choose not to do. After saying all that, does this pedal boost distortion channels? Thanks

Could you use this on a Marshall transistor amp like the MG100 head and get a similar result? Thanks for the review.

i was looking for something to drive my vox ac4tv harder, this is it thank you guys so much!!!!!
Because the Holy Fire's Overdrive and Distortion circuits EMULATE that tube break-up sound, you can put them in front of solid state amps and get a warm tube distortion. You do need to let the Holy Fire do all the work and not overdrive your amp or you will introduce the solid state sound into the mix too. hope that helps.

@CreationAudioLabs would this pedal go good with a fulltone ocd and a super reverb?

@ihaveaverybadcold The MK 4.23 goes great with many pedals. You do have up to 24dB of gain, so you have to be aware that some of your pedals can't handle all that gain. Many pedals will do fine with the MK 4.23 in front of it, but you will find others will be better if you place them in front of it.

can it run on batteries? if so how long is battery life expected before distorting?

No battery option on the MK.4.23.
Because of the high end pro-audio components being used, the MK.4.23 must be run on a standard 9 volt tip negative power supply. Early serial numbers had a battery option, but battery life was about 4 hours.
The power supply included is quieter than a 9 volt battery. We had to be sure of that since the pedal itself is dead quiet.
We now also offer a totally pro-audio grade edition of this pedal - The MK.4.23 48v Pro.
