Long ago, I used to work for the Santa Cruz Operation, popularly known as "SCO". These days SCO is more famous for its work in the courtroom, but back in 1991 things were a bit different.

Every year the company put on the SCO Follies, a sort of talent show where employees lampooned management and generally had a good time. We would all gather at the Cocoanut Grove down at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, there was plenty of food and drink, and the company even rented out a couple of the park rides for the night.

This is a video I made for the 1991 SCO Follies.

  • Has no one here seen the commercial of Steve Ballmer "selling" Windows 1.0 ? He's in a 3 color suit saying the same thing. Take the knives away of course and it's the same commercial. Then again, selling Operating Systems packages with knives somehow seems right. Especially with SCO and Microsoft.

  • Can someone post the Follies skit with Wu as Spike Lee and me hitting a volleyball? Must have been made around the same time as this one. Ah, to be young again.

  • IS this real, cuz i wanna buy SCO to run at home.

  • hahaha!

  • Thanks for the "blast from the past." I wish someone would post the rest of the follies videos.

  • Satire at its best - Rob Popeil fans would approve. Isn't that amazing!
